Reading and operating the digital tachograph<\/h1>\n

According to the latest international regulations, it is necessary to fully record the period of activity or its lack among drivers engaged in road transport.<\/h2>\n

The law governing digital tachographs requires them to be read at least once every 90 days and the data from the driver card to be read at least once every 28 days.<\/p>\n

This means transferring and saving data downloaded from the device to the computer. Data from supported digital tachographs and driver cards should be stored electronically on two separate storage media in different locations for one year.<\/p>\n

The SATIS system offers fully automated data retrieval from any supported digital tachograph. Encrypted data are transferred directly to the server, thereby ensuring their timeliness and compliance with the applicable Regulation (EC No. 561\/2006).<\/p>\n

The driver’s only task is to put his\/her personal card in the supported digital device. The transport company decides on the frequency of data transfer from the vehicle to the office. In order to read the information, the company must have a card reader and an individual code card to prevent unauthorised access to the data.<\/p>\n

\nThe module enables reading of tachograph storage memory and driver cards in the form of .DDD files using data processing software. Connection of device to the K-Line (D8) bus provides a way to read current status of drivers (driving, rest, work, break) and driver card numbers. The digital tachograph supports the collection of data that are the basis for real-time monitoring of the driver’s work limit. Data are available when the ignition is switched on or off. The solution allows for remote monitoring of driver cards and digital device storage memory in real time, anywhere, anytime, without the need for stops and additional equipment. Downloaded files are protected against editing.<\/p>\n

Installation in vehicles<\/strong>
\nThe module is connected to the rear wall terminal of the supported digital tachograph (connector C and D) and remains hidden during operation. Remote reading does not require any participation from the driver and can be done when the ignition is on\/off, while driving or at a rest stop (up to 48h after ignition is switched off). During the installation, the module performs a test that confirms that the installation has been done correctly and that a .DDD file can be downloaded. Sometimes an additional configuration of the supported digital device is required by an authorised unit. The device indicates this requirement right after the test. The set contains an additional installation kit: connector C and D sockets and mounting pins.<\/p>\n

Digital tachograph operation. How does it work?<\/strong>
\nRemote reading of .DDD files does not require the company card to be put in the supported digital device. It also does not need duplicates of company cards. Authorisation is done remotely using the chip card reader connected to a user computer at the company office or at any other location with access to the Internet. The device is connected to the GPS unit, which sends the generated task, e.g. download of the driver’s file in the slot by the user to the TMR module. Then, remote authorisation is carried out. The user has a connected company card reader at his\/her office. The card exchanges authorisation data with the supported tachograph using the GPS unit and the TMR module. 3. Once the authorisation is complete, the TMR module reads the specified file to its local memory. The file downloaded by TMR is sent to the Client server through the GPS unit. The .DDD file is ready to be downloaded from the Client application.<\/p>\n
