The Customer Support Department should be informed of the fact. A date for a visit from a maintenance worker is then set. The employee is equipped with all proper substitute devices. If the error cannot be repaired at the site, the damaged device is uninstalled and for the duration of the repairs it's replaced with a substitute device.

The locator used in the SATIS system can be installed in any vehicle. When selling your vehicle you have two options available:

  • Perform a cession of the agreement for the location services to the buyer.
  • Uninstall the locator and install it in the new vehicle.

The technical specification of the GPS service is not able to locate an object in places without a clear view of the sky. In this situation, the system displays the last confirmed location of the vehicle. What is important is that the system still registers all the other parameters with the locator.

For example: If a monitored vehicle enters an underground parking lot and the engine is not turned off, the position of the vehicle will not be updated, but you will know whether the engine is on, what the engine speed is or the temperature in the cargo space.

Yes, you can. The reports can be saved as PDF, XLS, XML and CSV files.

No. The SATIS system works 100% on the basis of popular web browsers.

The fuel probes can of course be installed in light fleets. This, however, is impractical and not economically viable. The measurement of fuel in the tanks based on the vehicle parameters is satisfactory in this case.
On the other hand, in the case of most passenger and commercial vehicles, the installation of the probe is technically impossible (due to lack of available space or the use of plastic fuel tanks).

Yes. There are two options in this case:

  • Through creating an additional user account in the SATIS system for a person outside of the business structure of the client. This user will be able to monitor a defined list of vehicles after logging into the system.
  • Through creating a link to the vehicle monitoring site and sending it to an indicated person. This option is set for a defined time: day and hours. The link becomes inactive after the set time.

Yes, but this requires the purchase of a roaming service. If your vehicles leave the territory of Poland, you can decide not to purchase the roaming service. In this case, the vehicle will stop updating its location approximately 15 km from the Polish border.

When the locator loses its connection with a national GSM provider, it will start saving all the data in the device's cache. As soon as the vehicle returns to the territory of Poland, it will send all the registered data. This allows for the analysis of the data from the device in the case of foreign trips without the roaming service.

Yes. All the SATIS system locators offered are equipped with an open communication protocol, meaning that they can be connected to other IT software with a similar functioning logic.

Of course you can. You can access the SATIS system from any computer in the world, provided it has an Internet connection. This does not apply to (very rarely) implementations, where our client’s safety procedures prevent this from happening.

Yes. You can integrate the SATIS system with all fuel card systems. Additionally, integration with facility, container and mobile systems is also available.

If fuel is purchased with cash, the SATIS system, the fuel purchase data may be manually inserted into the system or the import of this data from an accounting system.

Yes. This can be done with the use of devices, which are available on the market. The SATIS system, however, is equipped with mechanisms that detect any attempts to interrupt the GPS signal by the driver with such devices.

No. The locators are installed in such a manner so as to not be visible. Not only does it hide the device from the vehicle’s users, but also minimises the risk of tampering.

If external elements (e.g. fuel probes, drive mode switches, thermometers) are connected to the locator, of course they will be visible. The locator with the antennas itself, however, will be hidden.

No. We can create any number of user accounts for a client’s project. We also implement projects with additional accounts for users that do not work in the client’s structure (e.g. subcontractors, customers). These accounts are free of charge as well.

All the probes used by the SATIS system are pressure probes. This means that they measure the differences in liquid pressure. Therefore, magnets do not interfere with their functioning.

The SATIS system is the only tool of this type in Poland that is continuously being developed and improved. New features, the results of individual needs, are added in monthly cycles. If the client’s requests differ from the projected development plans, we gladly implement dedicated solutions overseen by a team of nearly 400 programmers.

Yes, you can. The SATIS locators are not equipped with any type of blockade that would make the use of alternative SIM cards unavailable. However, we would like to strongly recommend the use of SIM cards from operators we have contracts with. This makes remote connection with locators possible, therefore granting us the ability to update their software, change parameters that are vital to the client or provide remote maintenance.

We only implement professional vehicle devices that do not require integrated antennas for stable functioning. Even though the antennas are connected with additional cables, the installation method makes finding them and tampering impossible. Each time they are installed in the vehicle’s cabin and are not visible to the driver.

No. All the locators included in the SATIS project have proper homologation for use in vehicles.

We decide on the place of installation with the client each time. This can take place anywhere in Poland as we employ mobile installation teams.

The typical installation takes approximately 1 hour. If the project includes the installation of additional devices, e.g. fuel probes, and the calibration of fuel tanks, the process may take up to several hours.

By adhering to the rule: “work properly, not quickly,” we ensure proper installation. We value our clients’ time, so we evaluate the time needed for proper installation for a project of a given complexity.

How much is a 15% difference in terms of money?

  • Let's compare two Skoda Octavia 1.9 TDI (105 HP) models.
  • The difference in fuel use is 6.64-5.56=1.08 l/100 km.
  • The annual distance covered by each car is 40,000 km.
  • The difference in fuel usage is therefore 40,000/100*1.08=432 l.
  • Price of oil is PLN 5.50.
  • The yearly cost of excessive fuel usage is 432*PLN 5.50=PLN 2,376.
  • The cost of excessive fuel usage during leasing is PLN 2,376*3=PLN 7,128.

At first the result may not seem that high, but:

  • The result amounts to 10% of the car’s purchase value.
  • The sum allows for purchasing fuel for additional 8,000 km (nearly 3 months of driving).
  • In the case of a fleet of 200 cars it means PLN 1,425,600 in savings.
  • The saved sum equals 18 cars “for free” when substituting the fleet.

The GPS system satellites provide signals that can be recorded every 1 second. In special cases, we use this capability. However, in order to limit data transmission costs, especially in the case of roaming, which can lead to higher amounts, typically configured locators register data every 200 metres and after any 20-degree turn. The map data is updated each 30 seconds. The location and data updating frequency is decided with each client individually.

For civilian purposes, the precision of the GPS system is defined as a range of 4 to 12 metres. The locators used in SATIS systems are capable of vehicle location precision of 5 metres.

This depends on the used method and therefore on the cost of the implementation of the fuel monitoring system. In general terms, for measurements with the CAN bus and the fuel tank float the precision amounts to 3–7%.

When using fuel probes, the measurement precision amounts to 1.5–3%.

In the case of measurements based on the temporary fuel use or the total fuel parameters, the precision of the measurement of the mean fuel use amounts to 1.5–5%.

By default, it is stored for 6 months. This, of course, is individually decided upon with each client.

The installation of the locators usually starts no longer than 3 working days after the agreement is signed. In the case of large and very large projects, we create an installation schedule for the client, which includes each vehicle and the planned location of the installation.

The course is free of charge. Depending on individual arrangements, it can take place in the client’s headquarters, in SATIS GPS offices or remotely, through the telecommunications infrastructure.

There is a wide range of additional sensors available. Typically these are thermometers, driver identification units, driving mode switches, humidity sensors, closed doors sensors and fuel probes.

The SATIS locators can also be connected to, e.g., pumps, power units, compressors, HDS, power outlets and other actuators installed in vehicles. This way you can identify the work type, measure work time, fuel use, etc.

For individual clients, we only need an ID.

For companies with legal personalities, we need copies of the following identification numbers: KRS, NIP, REGON.

For other companies, we need copies of the following identification numbers: EDG, NIP, REGON.

In the case of implementations on credit of projects valued above PLN 30,000 net, we perform an individual credit check. In this case, the financial institution is not a side of the agreement.

This depends on the model, make and the manufacturing year of the vehicle as well as on the client’s additional requirements. In the case of nearly all vehicles equipped with CAN buses, we additionally measure the engine speed, the odometer state and the amount of fuel in the tank (for vehicles with one fuel tank). We can connect a number of additional devices to the locator.

This way we can measure factors such as temperature, humidity, CO2 concentration, fuel levels with the use of fuel probes, the functioning of power units, pumps, compressors, the opening of cargo space, as well as identify the work type of construction vehicles and many other factors. In general, this depends on the type of the vehicle, the client’s requirements and technical capabilities.

The locator is connected to an RFID sensor antenna. It is installed in the steering wheel column. This way is stays hidden from the driver.

The driver receives a proximity card or a key ring with a unique alphanumerical code registered in the SATIS system for the proper person. When the ignition key is turned, it starts sounding a high frequency signal until the card is placed close to the sensor.

Driver identification is accompanied by a long (2 s) signal and is valid until the engine is turned off. The on-line mode of the SATIS system makes it possible check which driver is in which vehicle. Driver identification can also perform a vehicle security function.

The locator can be configured to stop the engine from being turned on until the proper registered driver is identified.

This process makes the translation of the data from the given device type (CAN, float, probe) into litres possible. There are two ways to perform it. For large fuel tanks and multi-tank installations, it is performed directly on the vehicle.

The vehicle needs to be fully fuelled. The installation crew member then pumps all the fuel out of the tank. Next, they perform a series of fuelling operations with 5% of maximum tank capacity each time a measurement takes place. Next, the data is introduced into the SATIS system and converted into litres.

In the case of smaller tanks, we perform the calibration on the basis of data from previous refuels. We only need from 5 to 7 refuels with the vehicle number, date and hour to perform the calibration.

The minimum term for the agreement is 12 months. This is simply due to the fact that this is the minimum period for the activation of SIM cards, which are needed to send data from locators. The term of the agreement can also be affected by the project financing method.

We have experience in working with clients who want to limit the initial costs of the system's implementation. The terms of the agreements were longer in these cases to distribute the initial costs into a larger number of instalments.

This is a very wide topic. The cheapest locators on the market are manufactured in Eastern Asia. Their quality and technological level, therefore their performance, are not very high.

The type of key components installed in the locators, such as GRPS modems, GPS receivers, antennas, is another matter you have to take into account. If you include the fact that these components comprise a large amount of the manufacturing cost, then you can arguably state that you can buy either a cheap device or a good one. A large number of manufacturers go with the latter option and this is what we recommend to our clients.

The ability to connect a CAN bus and / or additional sensors and indicators is another factor. The last element of the price calculation is connected with the make of the device. This factor is pretty similar to what you can see in automotive industry. You have to balance the price and the quality. We offer all of this to our clients.

There is a 24-month warranty for the locators. You can also prolong the warranty for any period for a small fee. Important to note is that in the case of the prolonged warranty, we still provide substitute devices during the repairs.

The SATIS system is available for these web browsers: Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Google Chrome, Opera. We recommend Google Chrome due to its speed.
